Christelle Gérand is a freelance journalist based in Ethiopia since 2017. She covered the protests which led to the resignation of the Prime minister Hailemariam Desalegn in February 2018. From then, she is reporting on the process of opening and tentative attempts of democratization of the country, as well as social and environmental issues in one of the poorest country in the world.
She also frequently reports in Kenya, Tanzania, Djibouti and other African countries for Le Figaro, Le Monde diplomatique, Mediapart, Ouest France, GEO, TOPO.
She mostly writes long features on neglected issues.
She has previously been based in Paris for 2 years and New York for 5 years.
Due to different variables, the African continent is the most affected by infertility. This project will look at the suffering couples, as well as the solutions they can turn to, including "the walking egg" technology.
